Immunohistochemistryantibody recovery and reuse in SNAP i.d.® 2.0 system
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) is a biochemical method used for the detection, localization and identification of biomarkers in tissue samples. Although IHC is used worldwide and many automated systems exist for handling large numbers of slides.
4: Prediluted Anti-APP: one working solution used five times for five different slides. Amyloid precursor protein (APP), a highly conserved protein, implicated as a precursor of the Amyloid ß peptide, was detected in FFPE Alzheimer’s disease brain tissue slides pretreated with HIER. Using parallel manual and vacuum-driven IHC protocols, slides were incubated with the prediluted ready to use antibody, which recognizes the 3 isoforms of APP. The images show the comparison of the manual control using Pap pen vs. the SNAP i.d.® method with antibody recovered and reused up to 4 times.
